Dorian works with pen, paper and PC to create images of extraordinary strength and beauty, most of which have never been seen before.

Sparked by a chance encounter with a can-can troupe, Dorian’s art focuses on the inherent sensuality of the female and balance and power of the body, his women are both powerful and vulnerable, submissive and in charge. Strong lines and black and white images prevail, with a touch of colour occasionally added with ink or paper.

Prints and originals are available for sale, as is a range of limited edition cards.

I love Dorian Drake’s artwork, and purchased one of his prints recently.  The clean line-work and strong blocks of black appeal immensely, and they remind me very much of the work of Aubrey Beardsley, who provided illustrations for some of Oscar Wilde’s works.

As this is a forum about my work, I am going to put some up here. Some pieces you may have seen others will be new and not necessarily available or familiar in style as I am trying to broaden my work at the moment. However, this is the place to comment, let me know whether you like it or don’t, you may want a print or the original in which case let CCK know (it is their space) and we might be able to do something for you. Here is Liber II. Gouache - A3. I love bodices and corsets; clothes too and all therein, so I have gone a little Elizabethan (esque!) here. More to come…
