As a self taught artist drawing and painting has played a great part in Tony’s life since childhood.
Upon leaving school, following various careers, the one constant overpowering factor in his life was art. Tony would spend many nights absorbed in his latest work unaware of the passing of time.
Later on in his life he had the opportunity to run his own craft shop,displaying craftwork from various people alongside his own. Then he tended to work mainly in wood but found the lure of paper and pencil returned with even greater passion.
he mainly works in pencil but also use mixed media including airbrush, He is fascinated by the differences each media requires and never tires of learning new techniques.
Different aspects of the human form and materials, from leather to feather, provide him with inspiration and challenges. By using subtle shading and great detail, Tony endeavors to create dramatic and realistic portrayals of life in all its diversity.
